Minted & PEOPLE's Most Beautiful Quotes

We’re excited to announce that Minted has partnered with PEOPLE for a fun, short challenge! PEOPLE’s annual World’s Most Beautiful Woman issue celebrates the inner and outer beauty of strong, inspiring women in popular culture. We’re asking you, the Minted Community, to create beautiful art prints featuring one of ten lovely quotations about beauty. PEOPLE will select their favorite pieces to be featured on PEOPLE.com and across their social networks, and all the prints chosen will be sold on Minted.
Each submission should incorporate one of PEOPLE’s provided quotations about beauty in a big way (quotations provided below and in the submission kit). These prints will be largely typographic and must focus on the text provided, but there are no restrictions as to style or treatment.
This challenge will be different from how Minted challenges usually work, in that there will be a minimum of five and a maximum of fifteen winners total. PEOPLE’s esteemed guest judges Jonathan Adler, Erica Domesek, and Maggie Hong will work together to select five to ten of their favorite pieces to be featured on PEOPLE.com and across their social networks. Minted will select the five highest-rated designs as voted by the community, and all Minted and PEOPLE selections will be sold on Minted.com.

PRIZES:

PEOPLE will select between five and ten prints to feature on PEOPLE.com. These prints will be sold on Minted.com and will receive a $250 cash prize each.
In addition, Minted will choose the top five prints as voted by the community to sell on Minted.com. Those prints will receive:
• FIRST PRIZE: $1000
• SECOND PRIZE: $750
• THIRD PRIZE: $500
• FOURTH PRIZE: $350
• FIFTH PRIZE: $250
All winners will be sold on Minted.com and will earn a commission of 8% of net sales of the art print products sold, in addition to the cash prizes.

CREATIVE NOTES:

• You must use one of the ten quotations provided both below on this page and in the challenge PDF in the downloadable submission kit.
• You must also cite the original source of the quotation somewhere in the print (for example John Keats or Dante).
• Please do not alter the language or wording of the quotation.
• We are looking for non-personalizable art prints only.
• Your art print design will be sold in a variety of sizes at Minted.com, ranging from 5” x 7” to 44” x 60”.
• For best results we recommend creating vector images. This will allow the artwork to scale up to any size without losing any of the image quality.
• If your final artwork will be non-vector based, please be sure to scan it in or create it at a high, for-print resolution. Your DPI should be set to 300 and the final output size as large as possible, preferably at 24” x 36” if rectangular or 30” x 30” if square. The color settings for your scanned image should be set to RGB. For submission, please save for web as a JPEG or GIF, with the largest side at 550px, under 200kb. • If applicable, winners will be asked to submit 2 alternate colorways for their art print (mainly for graphic work) and a detailed description of the print.
